Planning and Environment Solicitor

Established as one of the first planning and environmental law practices in Ireland, BEAUCHAMPS' planning and environment team has over 20 years' experience advising on the full breadth of non-contentious planning, waste management and environmental law, and on contentious issues - including representing clients in oral hearings and judicial review proceeding. 

Our team comprises experienced professionals with significant experience, insight and knowledge across several sectors including:

We are currently seeking to recruit a solicitor at associate level to join our growing planning and environment team. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Advising clients on the planning and environmental consenting strategy for large projects across a wide range of sectors;

  • Supporting our clients through the planning and consenting process including, undertaking pre-submission legal reviews of the associated EIAR and NIS;

  • Providing targeted legal advice to clients on discrete planning and environmental law queries including, planning compliance, enforcement and environmental and waste licencing requirements and procedures;

  • Carrying out legal due diligence on the planning and environmental aspects of projects and developments on behalf of banks, investors, and prospective purchasers;

The Candidates:

The ideal candidate will be 3 – 5 years qualified, with experience in planning and environmental law gained in another planning/projects practice and/or in-house. He or she should have strong organisational and interpersonal skills as well as an excellent work ethic, energy, enthusiasm and be highly motivated.

Required Experience / Skills:

  • Experience in planning and environmental law;

  • Excellent drafting skills; 

  • Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team;

  • A calm and measured approach to problem solving;

  • A willingness to work hard above and beyond normal office hours, if required;

  • A willingness to attend networking and marketing events, if required;

  • Experience of working on renewable energy projects desirable but not essential.
