About Emma

Emma is a partner and heads up our litigation & dispute resolution team. Emma specialises in contractual and commercial dispute resolution and advises commercial clients and financial institutions in that area. Emma has considerable expertise in professional negligence claims and advises insurers and commercial clients in this area. Emma regularly advises major financial institutions and their insurers on complex disputes in retail, corporate, and wealth banking divisions.

Allied to her litigation practice, Emma is a recognised expert in the area of legal project management and works with financial institutions on large scale litigation and investigative regulatory projects.  

Emma was selected as the International Client Choice Awards winner for Litigation in Ireland for 2019.   • Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement (ODCE) acting for ODCE in its application to the High Court to investigate the affairs of Independent News and Media plc 

  • A National utility provider in a multi million euro arbitration in a dispute concerning the development and implementation of the provision of its utility service 

  • Acting for one of Ireland's largest financial institutions in relation its ongoing review of the Central Bank of Ireland's industry wide review of tracker mortgage accounts

  • A large internationally networked outsourcing services provider - advice and representation in relation to defining the status of an Account Sale Agreement in the context of a Notice of Intention to cease issued against it by Central Bank Ireland pursuant to Section 45 of the Central Bank (Supervision and Enforcement) Act 2013   

  • A foreign bank in relation to a cross jurisdictional challenge on negligence claim flowing from the financing of a leisure sector development

  • A large Netherlands company in relation to a dispute regarding an Arbitral Final Award issued in Rotterdam; acting in the enforcement of final award in Irish Courts
  • A large financial Institution - advice and coordination of a team transitioned to assist in the Tracker Mortgage Examination, the most significant supervisory review ever undertaken in the context of Central Bank’s consumer protection mandate
