Banking & Finance
Practice head Daniel Cashman is a growing presence in Irish banking and finance, coming recognised as "extremely effective and incredibly knowledgeable about the banking field" by clients. He offers expertise in matters such as secured lending, acquisition and project finance, and recently acted on several debt restructures and refinancing’s for AIB.
Corporate/M&A
Máire Cunningham offers strong experience of equity investment transactions, corporate restructurings, and venture capital deals in the technology and life sciences sectors. Sources value her for being "very commercial - she just gets on with the deal."
Head of corporate Shaun O'Shea recently advised healthcare business SIMS IVF to Virtus Health. Clients appreciate him for "giving straight answers. He knows what can be achieved for his client and what the other side will be looking for, and has the ability to look around the corner and explain the consequences of all of the different options."
Managing partner John White remains active with clients across a range of commercial matters. He is "very proactive and doesn't tie you down in the details," according to interviewees.
Dispute Resolution
Claire Callanan is a versatile litigator with a strong reputation for all types of contentious work. According to impressed sources, she is "pragmatic and very comfortable in the business world. She views her role as adding value for the client." Others praise her ability to "work out practical solutions to complex issues" and "revise strategy rapidly when new information becomes available." Her broad practice covers commercial, insurance and banking disputes in particular.
Mark Heslin has an increasing presence on property, financing, debt and enforcement cases, with recent highlights including assisting Joseph and Patrick Linders with separate cases concerning property-secured loans and a debt purchase agreement. Clients appreciate his "very intricate knowledge of the entire case, with a full understanding of every fine detail at his fingertips."
Emma Keegan acts on contractual and commercial disputes, notably for insurers and financial institutions. Lately, this included running enforcement applications for Ulster Bank and Danske Bank. Sources report that she "immediately spots the risks and tactics of a case" and is "very good at managing the case's strategy."
