Breakfast briefing - Regulation 2020 - The Key Issues Facing Regulators
We are pleased to announce our Public & Regulatory Team will host an upcoming breakfast briefing on 28 November, 7.30am - 10am, which will tackle some of the main challenges coming down the line for the industry.
At this event, we will host a panel of experts in the public and regulatory sector, who will discuss a number of challenges currently facing the sector.
PANELISTS & TOPICS
- John Elliot, Director of Regulation & Registrar of Solicitors at Law Society of Ireland: John will be discussing the critical areas that are impacting on professional regulators including Brexit and cross-border practice. He will also address the challenges faced by existing regulators where a new regulator is established.
- Sheila McClelland, CEO of Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI): As the newly appointed CEO of the NMBI, Sheila proposes to set out some key insights in respect of the existing professional regulatory systems in Ireland, which will include her observations on:
- Building a more effective and efficient regulatory system
- The effectiveness of the existing regulatory regimes in place
- The effectiveness of professional regulators in analysing and addressing evolving changes in practice
- Stephen McLoughlin, Partner and Head of Public and Regulatory, Beauchamps: Stephen is going to examine recent legislative developments affecting regulators, with a particular emphasis on the professional sphere, and will discuss how regulators can approach the key challenges they face.
