The eagerly awaited General Scheme of the Marine Planning and Development Management Bill (MPDM) was recently published by the Department of Housing, Planning & Local Government.
The MPDM represents a significant change in how the marine planning system in Ireland will be managed and developed. It is part of an ambitious suite of reforms which will modernise and streamline the process for approving maritime infrastructure projects, including offshore renewable energy.
