The RESS 1 Provisional Auction Results were released by EirGrid earlier today.
Of the 82 projects which have been declared provisionally successful, 63 are solar with a total offer quantity of 796MW. There are 19 on-shore wind projects, with a total offer quantity of 479MW. However, when you take account of wind's higher capacity factor, its share of the total Deemed Energy Quantity in RESS 1 is 1,469 gigawatt hours (GWh), versus 767 GWh for solar.
The GWh-weighted average strike price is €72.92/MWh for the Solar Category and €74.08/MWh for the "All Projects" Category. This is a lot higher than many commentators predicted before the auction. Meanwhile, the average strike price for the Community Category is €104.15/MWh.
