The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD, today announced changes to the Capital Advance Leasing Facility (CALF) funding model. Our Approved Housing Body (AHB) clients have been waiting for this announcement with bated breath to see whether these reforms will address the challenges faced by the sector in accessing income to build social houses, particularly in rural towns and villages.
The Minister's press release contains an outline of the reforms – see link here.
The question is whether these reforms will improve the viability of social housing projects for AHB’s and unlock the delivery of thousands of social homes?
A detailed analysis will follow, and we look forward to receiving our clients’ initial feedback and thoughts on the reforms.
